I am very happy to be able to say that the novel I have been writing, for the past 12 years, is finally completed. Click HERE to go to the Darkness Follows page to check out the book.

Check out my daughter's cat Owen, playing fetch!

The "Real" Me

I've always been a cowgirl at heart.

This is me on my first pony, Penny, and my lovely Gran.              My second pony, Pepper. I was about 10.

Gran kept my ponies for me at her farm in Zealandia, Saskatchewan, which was about an hour's drive from my home in the middle of the bald prairies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I spent the bulk of my summers there, riding every single day, regardless of weather. The elevator on the right is the Zealandia grain elevator, which sadly stands no longer. The elevators on the prairies have been consolidated and are now normally big concrete silos.

The barn, which belonged to my Gran (deceased), is still in our family, and has been featured in a hard cover book about distinctive barns in North America. Its still stands, as straight and true as the day it was built in 1907.

Other Horses I Have Owned

This is "Sam", my 26 year old Arab mare, that I still own. I bought her when I got my first job at 17 years old, (1981), when she was 4 months old, and I still have her today.

  My Artwork

I am a fan of Arabian horses. When I was younger, this obsession came out partly in my sketch work.

I love sketching animals and people. They are my favorite subjects.

Back in the day, I was a fan of Burton Cummings (still am I guess), Billy Crystal, where I used to watch him on Soap (remember that one folks?), and of Starsky and Hutch, of course!!!

My beautiful kids, James (at age 2) and Trista (at age 3). James was 2 1/2 years old when he was diagnosed autistic. I spent a lot of time and energy advocating for services for him and other autistic kids in Saskatchewan, before we relocated as a family to Calgary to put James into an Early Intervention Program.
